Milia Cottage

0

A short drive of 15 minutes from the port of Patitiri leads to the pine clad hillside area above Chrissi Milia Bay. Milia Cottage is quietly located down a short track which branches off from the roads that lead to the beaches of Kokkino Kastro and Chrissi Milia. The only sandy beach on the island can be found here, with safe swimming and very shallow clear waters.

Milia Cottage has panoramic views of the young, sweet smelling pines which reach down the valley to the sea in the distance. The two beaches are a pleasant walk or less than 5 minutes by car.

Chrissi Milia bay has a café bar above the beach serving light snacks. Kalamakia and Steni Vala are both a ten minute drive away offering a good selection of waterfront tavernas, coffee shop & mini markets.

This newly built cottage is contemporary in style with comfortable leather sofas, light wooden ceilings and soft lighting. There is a covered, sea-facing terrace to the front and to the side are flower borders with herbs and the owner’s vegetable patch, partly shaded by an umbrella pine.

Accommodation/Facilities of the cottage:
Ground floor: open plan kitchen and lounge | Bathroom with shower.
First floor: gallery double bedroom | Sofa bed suitable for a child.
Air-conditioning in the lounge | TV | DVD/CD player | Hairdryer | Barbeque.

Pre- and post-cruise arrangements

Athens, the city close to Piraeus which is the main cruise port, is more than just the place your cruise begins and ends: it’s an exciting and world renowned destination!

And if you have to take an overnight flight or a long haul flight you need at least a day to recover, otherwise the first day or two of your cruise can be an absolute waste. It also functions as a “safety-cushion” in case your flight is delayed.

A good way to explore Athens is with a pre- & post-cruise package. It is also a convenient way to get from your hotel to the pier (and back again) by pre-arranged transfers. Like this you avoid to carry heavy luggage in public means of transportation.

Potami House

Potami House will appeal to couples looking for peaceful seclusion in beautiful surroundings and with dramatic views. The house is set on a wooded hillside just a few kilometres inland from the east coast village of Panormos. The open views take in the pine-forested valley leading down to Panormos and across the sea to the coastline of Evia. No houses overlook Potami and the house and grounds have total privacy.
As a traditional country house the furnishings are simple but comfortable and there is a warm feeling of a home. Terraces surround the house and the garden areas contain lemon, fig, almond, cypress and carob trees plus a magnificent, gnarled and twisted, four hundred year old olive tree. The attractive dining patio, shaded by a grapevine, overlooks the pool terrace and incorporates a
barbecue area.
We suggest car hire for easy access to Panormos village and nearby beaches. Panormos, a drive of ten minutes, has a good selection of shops, tavernas and café bars and Panormos beach is one of the most popular on the island. Skopelos Town is a drive of twenty minutes.
Accommodation/Facilities of the house:
Ground floor: sitting/dining room | Kitchen | Bathroom with shower.
First floor: one double bedroom.
Air-conditioning | Satellite TV | CD player | Barbecue.
Private swimming pool (7,5 x 3,5 metres & depth 1 – 1.9 metres).

“What is god, or what is not god, or what is in between” wonders the Chorus in Helen. The squabbling gods rain down suffering on mortals, and wars are fought over phantoms.

In 412 BC, after the complete destruction of the Sicilian Expedition at Syracuse, Euripides wrote a play that borders on the tragicomic. Fifteen years after the start of the Trojan War, Helen meets Menelaus once more and the myth of the unfaithful wife is turned on its head.
